MARRIAGE PROPOSAL

By far, the most important project I've worked on to date was how to propose to my girlfriend of three years.

She is a fantastic cook (I'm spoiled), and I decided to design a "recipe" card that listed elements of our relationship and daily life in place of steps and ingredients.

I surprised her by telling her I had a new recipe I wanted to try - by the time she got to the last part, I was on one knee behind her with a ring.

Now she has a memory of the proposal that she can keep and proudly display.

And also... she said yes!

LULL & BETA CLOUD w/ ANDREW LILES - CIRCADIAN RHYTHM DISTURBANCE RECONFIGURED

A few years ago, I designed a quick layout for a collaborative release from Lull (Mick Harris of Napalm Death, Scorn, Painkiller fame) & Beta Cloud for Laughing Bride Media. The release was issued as a 3" CD-R.

This year, Cold Spring Records from the UK decided to issue their own version including a remix from Andrew Liles - a well known and respected English sound artist. Andrew's mix brought an entirely new light to the music, so for this expanded version I scrapped the initial design and created entirely new artwork, referencing tarot cards, sleep deprivation and chronobiology - the study of circadian rhythm.

Liles' remix practically dissects the original, so I felt relating to both 'study' and 'reconfiguration' was a fitting match.

MARC MAYER BUSINESS CARDS

Yesterday the business cards I designed for Marc Mayer arrived.

They were letter pressed at The Mandate Press- a company I have used for multiple print projects- highly recommended. For this batch of cards, I decided to use black edging to make it pop just a little bit more.

Marc works primarily on film projects in the NYC area and wanted a clean and simple professional looking card. He was very excited to see the finished product, and incredibly happy with the results.

RUNWAY 4.0 LOGO, POSTER & PROGRAM

My most recent project has been added to the design section.

For the past four years, Buffalo State College's Fashion Technology Program has planned the RUNWAY fashion event, featuring work by senior designers and other exhibits. It's always one of the must-see events in Buffalo and I was very pleased when producer Erin Habes brought me on board for this year's team.

Starting with Runway 2.0, the project has used the same wordmark for 'Runway' with a different view and extension for each year's theme. This year's theme was "Fashion Diversity Mash" - I took the Runway wordmark and angled it and spent time sketching roughly 100 versions of the number 4. When I had something that I found fitting, I moved on to the poster and program, both of which featured a number of different patterns in bright colors in the same angle as the wordmark. I wanted to present the theme which is a variety of styles and ideas from various time periods and cultures in a way that wouldn't be hard to understand.

The students and the production team loved it and the event was a great experience.

NEW NOVELIST WEBSITE

I recently completed a quick and simple revamp of the website for Novelist- one of my longest running musical projects.
The site was in desperate need of some help as my old design was rarely updated. Now that we have started rehearsals again and put our debut album available as a free download it was time for something fresh.

You can view the new site here.
Additionally, the mutus liber website was redesigned a few months back as well- check that one out here.

NADJA - SKIN TURNS TO GLASS LP

I recently completed artwork for the vinyl version of the Nadja release that I supplied artwork for in 2008. The CD version was released by The End Records and Throne Records is issuing the vinyl version which will be available as 2x12 colored vinyl.

The artwork was reconfigured and I am much happier with the overall results. I am still waiting to hear about manufacturing and a release date.
